Community Health Councils (CHC) understands the concerns of community members around potential exposure and spread of the Coronavirus; therefore, we are following guidance from our local and state public health organizations and suspending all in-person meetings and activities in Best Start Region 2 until further notice.
CHC will continue to discuss this matter to address concerns and strategize on how Best Start Region 2 can support community residents at this time. Our top priority is to ensure that we all protect ourselves, our families, and our communities.
As of today, the following individuals are eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine in LA County:

Residents with disabilities or without computer access can call 833-540-0473 between 8:00 am and 8:30 pm 7 days a week for assistance with appointments.
Vaccines are still not available for everyone and it will take time to get everyone vaccinated.
In the meantime:
+ If you can please stay home
+ If you must go out, then please wear a mask, wash your hands, and keep your distance.
The best way to reduce the risk of getting sick, as with seasonal colds or the flu, applies to prevent COVID-19:
+ Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
+ Cough or sneeze into your elbow.
+ Avoid touching your face.
+ Reduce the time you are around others outside the home, even when at least six feet away.

Your provider will provide you instructions on what to do next. If you do not have a doctor or clinic, contact a local county or community clinic or you can call the Health Consumer Alliance Hotline at (888) 804-3536.
Remember EVERYONE is encouraged to seek care if they are sick, regardless of income or immigration status. Testing is free and you do not need health coverage.
The City of Los Angeles, in partnership with the County of Los Angeles and CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort), is providing free COVID-19 testing to ALL Los Angeles County residents, whether or not you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms.
